Same you in a million worlds
The frame, in real life
In the reel: A couple on a blanket pointing up at the Milky Way, pine silhouettes, a thousand stars.
Pine forest plus a Milky Way this bright means a certified dark-sky park at altitude. Bryce Canyon (International Dark Sky Park, ponderosa pines, 2,400 m) matches the frame exactly, and there is glamping right at the rim so the blanket scene is the actual bed.
When to go
Late May to early October for the Milky Way core; the park's Astronomy Festival is in June. Ranger-led stargazing runs summer weekends.
The hour: Pick the 5 nights around the new moon. Core rises in the south-east after full dark (around 22:00 in June, 21:00 in September).
Avoid: Full-moon weeks (sky washed out); mid-July monsoon afternoons can bring cloud.
What it costs (USD)
Shoestring: Park campsite ~$30 + $35 vehicle entry (7 days)
Mid: 250–400 glamping tent
Splurge: Lodge suite + private astrophotography guide
