From a high window over Port Hercule, the yachts go quiet, the Rock lights up, and the whole small country seems to belong to you two.
In the reel: A couple embraces in a lit upper window of a Belle Époque building, a chow chow beside them, above the yachts of Port Hercule, the Casino and the hillside lights under a crescent moon.
This is Port Hercule at blue hour, seen from the Belle Époque hotel on the hill, looking across the yachts to the lit Rock and the Prince's Palace. The art pulls the Casino down onto the quay, but it really sits on the plateau above and east of the port, so no single window holds all three. One window shot plus one reverse shot from Place du Palais gets you the whole frame.
When to go
April–May or September–October. For the waxing crescent, aim 2–5 days after new moon, e.g. 8–11 May or 2–5 Oct 2027 (computed, check timeanddate.com).
The hour: 25–35 minutes after sunset, while the windows glow warm and the sky is still blue. In mid-May that's about 21:10–21:20.
Avoid: Grand Prix weekend (reportedly 4–6 June 2027): prices spike and the harbour fills with race structures. Peak July–August is crowded too.
